YOUNG PEOPLE MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD IN THE FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY
A music competition of the European Commission called for young people from 27 European countries to become involved in the fight against poverty. VBA Events publicised this competition on various platforms, in schools and clubs throughout Germany, thereby directly attracting attention to this exciting competition. During the two-day promotion at the Viertelfest, the highly motivated promotion team ultimately succeeded in gaining some young talent for the challenging competition, as well as numerous voters for the German participants.
Occasion: Music competition of the European Union with the theme of "I fight Poverty"
Target group: Young people aged 15 – 25
Client: European Commission through the TIPIK agency, our cooperation partner from Brussels
Challenges:
- EU competition in a total of 27 countries
- Reaching the target group through various media
- Generation and qualification of more than 700 contacts in the area of young people, music, festivals and media
- Motivating young people to participate in this challenging competition in the difficult, overstimulated EU country of Germany
VBA realisation:
- Quick setup of a basic database with constant adaptation to the current changes of requirements
- Use of our multi-layered agency network
- City promotion in Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin and Marburg
- Promotion at one of the largest festivals for new artists and bands, the Bremer Viertelfest, with several thousand visitors
- Radio interview with EU Commission representatives
- Initiation of an I-fight-poverty app
Result:
- 21 songs were submitted from Germany
- The German team, “Toni and Mareike” won the jury prize and therefore a trip to the Development Days in Brussels
- More than 2,000 direct contacts with the promotions and the festival
